About this experience
Our magnificent journey begins at the São Francisco Quay Dock, located at the Portimão Naval Club, next to the old São Francisco Convent. From here, we set off towards the world-famous Benagil Cave.
Along the way, we will spot churches, castles and caves of rare beauty, some of them truly imposing, while hearing old stories of the region. There is also the possibility of crossing paths with our great friends, the dolphins. All our vessels are equipped with VHF radio and operate on the same channel as the dolphin-watching boats. So, whenever these animals are sighted, which happens very often along our coast, the information is shared by radio and, if they are within a two-nautical-mile radius, we change course to meet these fascinating creatures.
Then we will pass by the world-famous Alvor Nature Reserve, with stunning, breathtaking views. With a little luck, we may spot pink flamingos and other species, as the Alvor Estuary is one of the best places in the Algarve for birdwatching. We will sail through the protected wetlands of the Ria de Alvor Nature Reserve, with Alvor Beach to the south, one of the largest stretches of sand in the entire region.
