Experience : Aveiro, “Bacalhau” and Beaches

How about discovering the past and the present of the city, in an experience that combines history, identity and contemporary life? Let’s do it! We will tour, by car, the old parts of the city, full of history, life and memory. We do not forget the tradition of salt and all its importance. We then head towards Ílhavo, where we learn about the history of “Cod Fishing” with a visit to the Codfishermen’s quays with the ships, the factories and, of course, a beautiful view over the Ria de Aveiro. We then visit the Jardim Oudinot area, with a mandatory stop at the Navio Santo André and an exterior presentation of that museum. The last stage of this tour takes us to the beaches, with a visit off the coast of Portugal’s tallest lighthouse, the ruins of the old Ponte da Barra, the Costa Nova seafront, its fishing quarter and its places of greatest interest.
