At 9 am, we will meet at Avenida Emídio Navarro 21 in Coimbra to begin our tour of Serra da Estrela.

The first destination we will visit the highest inhabited village in Portugal, located at 1050 meters above sea level, Sabugueiro. We walk around the town for a while and get to know one of the oldest Portuguese shepherd dog species on the Iberian Peninsula, the Serra da Estrela Dog.

We will continue the journey with the destination at the top of the mountains, but first we will pass through some iconic places in the mountains: Mondeguinho, the source of the largest national river; the village of Manteigas, which is the “heart of the Serra da Estrela” and the headquarters of Unesco Estrela Geopark; the emblematic Zêzere Glacier Valley and Covão da Ametade; reaching the top of 1996 meters we have the Torre.

The views we will have of Serra da Estrela are incredible, we stroll through an area of rare beauty and impressive mountain slopes where we can intensely experience the silence of the heights.

You will have the opportunity to taste the famous Queijo of Serra on your own, the most typical cheese in the region and also with the sausages.

Afterwards, we will begin the descent through the Ski Resort, Lagoa Comprida and Senhora of Desterro.

We will conclude the tour by arriving at the starting point at 5:00 pm.

(The climb to the top of the mountain will only take place after all safety conditions have been met. The order of visits can be changed depending on availability)
