Douro Valley Tour

Discover the spectacular Douro Valley, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Located in northeastern Portugal, within the Douro River basin, and surrounded by mountains that provide unique environmental and climatic characteristics, the region covers a total area of approximately 250,000 hectares. This area comprises three naturally distinct sub-regions, each differing in both climatic and socioeconomic factors.

This wine-producing region, demarcated since 1756, is the oldest in the world and offers us centuries-old vineyard landscapes along the Douro River.

It is in these vineyard landscapes that the famous Port Wine is born, produced in the cellars of century-old estates. Traditionally, the typical Rabelo boats of the region continue to transport the wine along the tranquil waters between the vineyards.

Departure from the hotel or Airbnb is at 8:30 am, with a scenic trip in a Mercedes minivan in a group with a maximum of 8 people heading to the Douro Valley. Along the way, there will be a secret stop with a stunning viewpoint for capturing unforgettable photographic moments.

The first stop will be a visit to a Quinta, where you will learn about the wine culture, and the wine production and aging process. During a themed tasting, you will appreciate the aromas and flavors of the renowned Douro wines.

Next, there will be a private boat ride on the Douro River for an hour. Allowing you to contemplate the beauty of the valley while enjoying traditional snacks accompanied by a local drink.

After the boat tour, we will enjoy a Portuguese regional lunch at the second Quinta, harmonized with the wines produced on-site. This family estate produces table wines, providing a more authentic experience. The visit will conclude with an olive oil tasting.
