Description:
The Vila Franca Islet Nature Reserve is located on the south coast of the island of São Miguel, in the municipality of Vila Franca do Campo, in the Azores. It is a small volcanic islet, about 500 metres from the coast and 1200 metres from the Marina da Vila, where we are based. This site is one of the biggest local tourist attractions and is sought out by all who visit us. Our Islet Tour consists of a boat trip around the reserve, accompanied by a guide, where you can admire the breathtaking volcanic rock formations and the seabirds that live there and those that use the site to nest, such as the common tern (sterna hirundo). This is without a doubt an experience you will not want to miss.
