Walk through the Schist Villages of Lousã

Duration: Between 5 and 6 Hours

Circular 10 km walking route through the Schist Villages of Talasnal, Chiqueiro and Casal Novo and the mountain village of Vaqueirinho, starting and finishing at Lousã Castle, passing through places of rare beauty such as the water channel, century-old chestnut groves, the hermitages of Nª Sra. da Piedade, the Ermida Hydroelectric Plant, among others.

In some places, the ground is uneven. A reasonable level of physical fitness is advisable.

Recommended season: spring, summer and autumn. The slopes are moderate / steep.

Good to know

What to bring: You should bring water and a light packed lunch (based on sandwiches and fruit).

Clothing and footwear suited to the weather conditions of each season are recommended, namely light, thermal and breathable clothing, a waterproof/windproof jacket and comfortable hiking boots, a hat to protect you from the sun, and trousers that allow freedom of movement.

There may be a possibility of snow in the highest part of the route.
