Lisbon: Plastic Pickup & Boat Tour

Join our Marine Biologists and collect Plastics in the river. Check the Lisbon monuments from the Tagus river prespective while clean the waters.

Embark on a research vessel with professional crew and give your sustainable contribution to our ongoing research project to clean the Tagus river.

Discovery the Lisbon monuments from the river front, on a guided tour.

Admire the skyline of the city, and get to know more about the S.Jorge castle, the National Pantheon, the Cristo Rei statue, the Discoveries Monument and the Tower of Belem.

You will help our marine biologists mount the MicroPlastic net, and collect marine litter on the way. The MicroPlastic net will be towed during 20 minutes in the middle of the Tagus river canal at a low velocity (3Knots), and 10 minutes to interprete the material collected. This is used for our research on the microplastics in Lisbon, therefore we will send to our research institute partner the data collected.

The crew will also chat about marine biodiversity threats in the region, the plastic pollution issues and the Monuments seen from the river.

All participants will use lifejackets during the whole tour, despite going at low velocity.
