About this experience
The tour begins on foot, with a pleasant walk through the historic centre. We will start at Avenida dos Aliados, where you can admire the imposing architecture of the local buildings. From this point, you will have a view of the iconic Torre dos Clérigos. Along the way, you will find other monuments, including McDonald’s, known as one of the most beautiful in the world.
The next stop is São Bento Railway Station, where the guide will tell the story of the station and its famous azulejos, which illustrate significant scenes from Portuguese culture and history. We will continue climbing up to the Cathedral (Sé), one of the oldest monuments in the city, where we will take a short break to admire the view and learn about the history of the place (the visit will be external only). From the Sé, we will head towards the Fernandina Wall, with impressive views of the city.
On arriving at Praça da Batalha, we will board our comfortable coach to continue the tour. From here, we head to Vila Nova de Gaia, where we will visit a Port wine cellar for a full explanation of the Port wine production process, followed by a tasting of three wines.
