Our Family’s History:

Now over 100 years old, Poças is currently in the hands of the 4th generation, and is one of the rare Port Wine companies that was born Portuguese and has remained in the hands of the same family since its foundation.

The Poças Visitor Centre has been open to the public since 2016 and was fully renovated in 2018 – an innovative project designed by the architects Lúcia Vaz Pato and António Mota.

With us you will immerse yourself in the family atmosphere of Poças, sense the unforgettable aroma of the noblest wines and observe the routines of a bustling cellar.

Our old Tawny Ports built Poças’ reputation, but for 30 years the DOC Douro wines have also proved their quality.

In 2019 Poças received the “Fortified Wine Producer of the Year 2018” award, given by Revista de Vinhos.

Welcoming around 28,000 visitors a year, in 2018 the Visitor Centre was awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
