This private tour of Lisbon takes you to the city’s main points of interest, offering a complete, customisable experience. We start the day at the mouth of the Tagus River, in the emblematic Belém area, where you can visit three of the most important symbols of Portuguese history: the imposing Jerónimos Monastery, in Manueline style; the iconic Belém Tower, a symbol of the Age of Discoveries; and the Monument to the Discoveries, a tribute to the navigators who took Portugal to the four corners of the world. Still in Belém, you will have the chance to visit the Belém Cultural Centre, home to the Berardo Collection Museum, with one of the richest collections of modern and contemporary art in the country. Before leaving Belém, do not miss the chance to taste the authentic and famous Pastel de Belém, one of the city’s sweetest traditions. We then continue to the historic centre, with a stop at the grand Praça do Comércio, with its elegant arcades and the Rua Augusta Triumphal Arch, gateway to Lisbon’s downtown. We climb up to Chiado, the city’s most cosmopolitan district, where you can visit the iconic Brasileira do Chiado and take a photo with the statue of the poet Fernando Pessoa.

At midday, we suggest some lunch options, with tips on authentic, affordable places. In the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to the heart of the city, passing through Rossio, with its emblematic pavements, then up the elegant Avenida da Liberdade, lined with shops of the biggest international brands. We pass the Marquês de Pombal roundabout and stop at Eduardo VII Park, one of the best viewpoints in the city, with a panoramic view over Lisbon and the Tagus. Then we enter old Lisbon, exploring the narrow, authentic streets of Alfama, with a visit to the impressive Lisbon Cathedral. And, to end the day in style, we go up to São Jorge Castle, from where you can watch one of the most beautiful sunsets in the city. This tour is fully customisable.
