Aveiro Selection – Moliceiro boat trip, walking tour and tasting of local flavours

The moliceiro trip travels through the urban canals of Aveiro for around 45 minutes. On board, the boatman shares the city’s historical and cultural background in a dynamic and engaging way, creating a true blend of tourist entertainment and knowledge.

The walking tour begins in the historic quarter, and throughout the route we will explore the city’s traditional life and trade. We will explore the city’s historical context, passing by emblematic sites such as the old city wall, the façade of the Igreja da Misericórdia, the Paços do Concelho and Praça Marquês de Pombal – here we will highlight the Casa de Santa Zita, one of the city’s most impressive collections of azulejos.
The route also includes the exterior of the old Convento das Carmelitas, the Aveiro courthouse and curiosities such as the zodiac on the Calçada Portuguesa. Throughout the experience, the region’s ceramic tradition will also be put into context.
Through the picturesque alleys of the Bairro da Beira-Mar, it is possible to understand the old social differences and appreciate the architectural contrasts between the city’s various areas, with particular emphasis on the Art Nouveau of the early 20th century.

The experience ends in a modern, welcoming space, where the tasting will take place, led by experts. For 30 to 45 minutes, you can enjoy a carefully chosen selection of local and national produce: a tasting of 4 different wines, accompanied by a selection of cheeses, jams, fruit, nuts and a traditional liqueur from the city.
The possibility of adapting the tasting to vegan can be assessed upon request.
