Fietsen over de Ecopista do Vouga<\/h2>\n

Over<\/h3>\n

De spoorlijn van de Vouga-vallei, beter bekend als de Vouga-lijn en bijgenaamd de 'lijn van de bochten' vanwege haar kronkelige traject, was een spoorsectie die de noordlijn verbond met de D\u00e3o-lijn over een lengte van 140 km.<\/p>\n

De planning begon in 1877 met als doel de overvloedige landbouwproductie van de Vouga-vallei naar Groot-Porto te vervoeren; op 5 februari 1914 werd ze uiteindelijk geopend en werd de lang verwachte spoorverbinding tussen Espinho en Viseu gerealiseerd.<\/p>\n

De eerste treinen op de Vouga-lijn waren stoomlocomotieven met houten wagons. Later werd de lijn bediend door railbussen \u2014 tot de sluiting in 1990 (tussen Sernada do Vouga en Viseu). Ze blijft herinnerd als een van de mooiste spoorlijnen van Portugal: van de kust naar de bergen, met bochten, tunnels en bruggen door valleien en groene heuvels.<\/p>\n

Deze fietstocht nodigt deelnemers uit circa 65 km af te leggen, dalend door akkerland, wijngaarden en eikenbossen, met prachtige uitzichten op de Vouga-vallei en eindigend in Sernada do Vouga.<\/p>\n

Na het ophalen in Coimbra rijden we met de auto naar Viseu, naar het begin van de route, waar deelnemers per fiets verder gaan; wij begeleiden hen over de hele lengte.<\/p>\n

Aan het eind staan we voor je klaar om je terug te brengen naar Coimbra.<\/p>\n
