Afonso Henriques, en vervolgens in 1159 aan de Tempeliers geschonken.<\/p>\n<h3>Convento de Cristo, Tomar<\/h3>\n<p>Het Convento de Cristo in Tomar behoorde tot de Orde van de Tempeliers. Het werd in 1162 gesticht door de grootmeester van de Tempeliers, dom Gualdim Pais, en het Convento de Cristo bewaart nog steeds herinneringen aan die krijgermonniken en aan de erfgenamen van hun ambt, de Orde van Christus, die dit gebouw tot hun hoofdkwartier maakten. Werelderfgoed, geclassificeerd door de UNESCO.<\/p>\n<h3>Kasteel van Tomar<\/h3>\n<p>De bouw van het kasteel van Tomar begon in 1160, door de Tempeliers, als onderdeel van een verdedigingslinie tegen aanvallen van moslims.<\/p>\n<h3>Kasteel van Almourol<\/h3>\n<p>In het kader van de christelijke herovering van het Iberische schiereiland werd Almourol in 1129 veroverd door D.
