De hoge, steile kliffen van dit traject, hoewel blootgesteld aan de zoute, hardnekkige zeewind, zijn een nestplaats voor meer dan 20 vogelsoorten! Dit omvat de kauw, de aalscholver, de torenvalk, de rotsduif, de ooievaar en de slechtvalk en de zwarte roodstaart. Het is de moeite waard om stil te zijn en discreet vanaf boven de klif in de gaten te houden, en te genieten van de vlucht van deze vogels, vooral in de lente en bij Cabo Sard\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Langs de kust vindt u sporen van paleoklimaten, dat wil zeggen klimaten uit het verleden die in de rotsen zijn \"geschreven\". Kijk naar de geconsolideerde duinen, dat zijn oude duinen waarin het zand tot steen is geworden. Ze vormden zich toen de zee meer dan 100 meter onder het huidige niveau lag, wat betekent dat het strand meer dan 60 km naar het westen lag. Op deze duinen zijn sporen gevonden van picknicks van prehistorische mensen en schelpen van dieren die typisch zijn voor zeer koude klimaten, een teken van de ijstijden die in het verleden optraden. Maar we hebben ook tekenen van perioden met een tropisch of bijna tropisch klimaat.
