Serra da Estrela Hike

A walk of choice in the Serra da Estrela. A linear route of around 12 km with a gradient of around 1200m (minimum elevation – 830m; maximum elevation – 1993m), in a mountainous and inhospitable area of this range, from the village of Loriga to the highest point of the mountain, the Torre, along the glacial valley of the same name.

The landscape is marked by irregular, rocky terrain, formed by glacial lakes, valleys and hollows. The ground is, in places, uneven.

It is advisable to have good physical stamina.

Warto wiedzieć

You should take water and a light packed lunch (based on sandwiches and fruit).

Clothing and footwear suited to the weather conditions at each time of year are recommended, namely light, thermal and breathable clothing, a waterproof/windproof layer and comfortable mountain boots, a hat to protect you from the sun and trousers that allow freedom of movement.

There may be a possibility of snow in the higher part of the route.

The organisers’ vehicle stays here and the journey to the start of the walk is made in the clients’ vehicle. At the end of the route we will use the organisers’ vehicle to return to the participants’ vehicle.
