Canoagem Rio Alva/Moura Morta

Czas trwania: Between 5 and 6 Hours

Descent of the rio Alva, on a section of around 5/6km between the Barragem das Fronhas and Praia Fluvial da Moura Morta in the municipality of Vila Nova de Poiares. A section with many rapids and the crossing of a weir. It does not have very technical sections, but it demands some physical fitness and agility, because contact with the water is likely. We recommend previous canoeing experience. Recommended season: all year. Difficulty: easy.

Warto wiedzieć

You should bring: A hat and sun cream suited to your skin, light clothing (shorts and t-shirt) or clothing suited to the day’s weather conditions, a flask or water bottle, a light lunch (sandwiches, fruit, energy bars), closed sandals or old trainers that can get wet (flip-flops are not recommended), dry clothing for the end and a towel.

Recommendations: During winter or periods of heavy rainfall, the river flow can change rapidly within a few hours, so the descent always depends on an analysis and assessment of the river at the time, also taking into account the participants’ experience and age group. We may even have to cancel a descent at the start of it.

In autumn and winter we do not recommend the participation of children and young people up to 16 years old.
Participants should pay attention to their glasses. They should come with straps/cords so they are not lost in the river.

We do not recommend the use of mobile phones, cameras and other electronic devices during the descent.
During the descent nothing should be left visible inside the vehicles. And anything considered valuable should be placed in a backpack (which will always stay with the participants or with the organiser).
