This trail starts at the Vista do Rei point, ends in the parish of Sete Cidades and has an estimated total time of around 2 hours. It begins on the western side of the Cumeeira da Caldeira das Sete Cidades (the highest point of the caldeira).

On this part of the trail you can observe the following: the lakes of Caldeira Seca and Sete Cidades on the right-hand side and the western coast of the island of São Miguel on the left-hand side.
