Literary Tasting…

In the heart of the gardens of Quinta da Aveleda, we invite you to spend an afternoon where literature and wine meet, in an atmosphere of sharing and inspiration.

On 10 October, at 3pm, we welcome Rui Couceiro, writer and one of the leading figures on the Portuguese literary and publishing scene.

Born in Porto in 1984, Rui Couceiro worked for two decades in the publishing sector, first in communications at Porto Editora and later as editor at Bertrand, where he created and ran the Contraponto imprint. He is currently curator of BABELL, a literary and cultural event promoted by the Fundação Livraria Lelloi a member of the Cultural Council of the Fundação Eça de Queiroz, also contributing to Visão magazine.

As an author, he published Baiôa sem Data para Morrer (2022), which won the Prémio Literário Manuel de Boaventura and was shortlisted for the Prémio Pen Club Português, followed by Morro da Pena Ventosa (2024). In 2026, he published A Mais Bela Maldição, a collection of true stories of people passionate about books.

Throughout this meeting, we will be led by Luísa Santos in a conversation devoted to literature, books and the stories that live on beyond the page.

Luísa Santos, author of award-winning novels and short stories and a member of the Associação Portuguesa de Escritores, has been the curator of this Aveleda cultural initiative, “Provas Literárias”, since its creation in 2025.

Guests will be welcomed with a welcome drink of Espumante Aveleda Bruto, beginning an afternoon where literature and wine come together in a unique setting.

The moment culminates with a tasting of the wine Parcela do Roseiral, a celebration of wine, the word and the place.
