Portugal wins 31 awards at the 2024 World Travel Awards Gala

The World Travel Awards, often referred to as the “Oscars” of tourism, were established in 1993 and are awarded by professionals from the global tourism industry.

Portugal received 31 awards at the 31st edition of the World Travel Awards, with the European ceremony held in Berlin. Portugal at the 2024 World Travel Awards is a milestone achievement.

These awards aim to recognize, reward, and celebrate excellence across all sectors of tourism, encouraging competitiveness and quality in the industry with a focus on Portugal at the 2024 World Travel Awards.

Madeira, Porto Santo, Lisbon, and Porto were named Europe’s top destinations in the categories of Best Island Destination, Best Beach Destination, Best Urban Destination, and Best Metropolitan Seaside Destination, respectively, a testament to Portugal at the 2024 World Travel Awards.

Braga was recognized as an Emerging Destination, and the Azores were distinguished as the Best Adventure Destination. The Paiva Walkways were once again honored as the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction in the Adventure segment. TAP was named Europe’s Best Airline to South America and Africa.

Dark Sky Alqueva received the awards for Best Responsible Tourism Project and Best Tourist Attraction.

— The Mondego Walkways were chosen as the Best Tourism Development Project.

Amazing Evolution was recognized as both the Best Boutique Hotel Manager and Best Hotel Manager.

Azores Airlines was recognized as Europe’s Best Airline to North America.

SATA Air Açores was named Best Regional Airline.

Madeira Promotion Bureau was awarded Best Tourism Organization.

Dunas Douradas was recognized as Best Resort Villas.

Pousada Mosteiro Amares received the award for Most Romantic Resort.

Savoy Palace was recognized as the Best Luxury Hotel.

Pestana Alvor Praia won as Best Beach Hotel.

1908 Lisboa Hotel was awarded Best Design Hotel.

W Algarve was recognized as Best Lifestyle Hotel.

Pestana Palace Lisboa won in the categories of Best Family Wellness Urban Hotel and Best Luxury Hotel for Business Travel.

Conrad Algarve was named Best Lifestyle Resort.

Wyndham Grand Algarve was highlighted as Best Suite Resort.

Valverde Hotel, in Lisbon, was awarded Best Luxury Boutique Hotel.

Vila Baleira Resort was recognized as Best Island Resort.

Cascade Wellness Resort was distinguished as Best Sports Resort.

L’AND Vineyards was awarded Best Wine Region Hotel.

The awards ceremony, which included Portugal at the 2024 World Travel Awards Gala, is one of the most prestigious in the sector, providing international visibility to the winners and highlighting best practices and tourism services worldwide.
