From the viewpoints of the village the Mondego opens below in great bends, and the riverside, the beaches and the old sanctuary of Loreto make Penacova a natural stop between the city and the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Mondego at Penacova<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From its viewpoints over the valley \u2014 the balconies of the village above the river \u2014 Penacova looks over the Mondego and the green hills of the valley, with the river beaches and the paths along the water below.
