A Brasileira
A historic café on Braga’s central avenue, serving the city since 1907.

On the Avenida Central of Braga, the A Brasileira has been part of the city’s daily life since 1907. With its historic rooms and its long esplanade, it is one of the classic cafés of the north — a place of coffee, sweets and conversation in the heart of the old city.
History and character
The café opened in 1907, in the years when the fashion of Brazilian coffee houses spread through Portugal. It grew with the avenue itself — the new heart of Braga around the turn of the twentieth century — and has kept its place in the city’s life through the decades, between the shops and the historic streets.
