Casa-Museu Guerra Junqueiro
A house-museum in Porto devoted to the writer Guerra Junqueiro, with furniture, ceramics, goldsmithery and decorative arts.

In a seventeenth-century house in the heart of Porto, the Casa-Museu Guerra Junqueiro preserves the collection of the poet and politician Abílio Manuel Guerra Junqueiro (1850-1923). Furniture, ceramics, textiles, goldsmithery and religious art fill its rooms, giving an intimate picture of a nineteenth-century collector’s taste.
A poet’s collection
Guerra Junqueiro was one of the best-known Portuguese poets of his generation, and his house holds the objects he gathered throughout his life, from Portuguese and oriental ceramics to furniture, ivories and religious sculpture. The museum opened in the house in the 1970s and is part of Porto’s municipal museum network.
