The Best of the West in 5 riding days, is our most affordable MTB holiday. You will ride every day at your own pace and stop for a coffee or lunch when you want. We’ll provide the GPS routes, support and luggage transfers. You book your hotels along the routes.

Best of the West in 5 Self-Guided Riding Days

The western Algarve is slightly cooler than the rest of the Algarve due to its location closer to the Atlantic Ocean. It is also less populated compared with the middle Algarve where the nightlife hotspot Albufeira and major golf destination Vilamoura dominate the landscapes.

The routes start at your hotel and end at the next hotel. Your luggage will be transported and should you wish to skip one day, we can also transport you and your bike to the next hotel.

You will follow our GPS route following double and single tracks, through dense forests and open grasslands. Daily distances are on average around 50-60 km with a shorter day whilst climbing to the Serra de Monchique. We aim for a balanced mixture of unpaved tracks, quiet country lanes and forest paths.

• Anyone with some mountain bike experience in off-road conditions
• Anyone with some technical skills
• Anyone with a good fitness level to cover the daily height metres
