Vandring i Moinho do Félix – heldag

On this experience we depart from Ponta Delgada towards the parish of Lomba de São Pedro, in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, for a hike that will show us the north coast of the island of São Miguel. This is an ideal hike if you enjoy nature, waterfalls and coastal landscapes. You can also learn about the old agricultural productions and the mills that were used in this area.
This is a circular route and takes about two and a half hours to cover its 5.5 km. We start the hike next to the church of São Pedro and the first metres are downhill along a dirt path towards the ocean. We will pass by the Rocha viewpoint before reaching the Homem waterfall.
We continue the route that will take us towards the ruins of the old Félix mill, Teófilo waterfall, Gruta waterfall and also Poço da Truta. These are places of immense beauty and you will certainly enjoy photographing them to remember later! In the final part of this route we will find some fountains used to supply water to the population, before returning to the church of São Pedro.
