Vandring i Serra Devassa & Grota do Inferno – heldag

This full day of hiking allows you to discover the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades in an original way, without forgetting its most emblematic spots. The trail, which is a little challenging, takes us to incredible landscapes between lagoons, aqueducts and springs, surrounded by endemic vegetation up to the highest point of Sete Cidades – Pico das Éguas. It is a circular trail that starts at Muro do Carvão with a briefing about the places we will pass through and the characteristics of the hike. On the Serra Devassa trail we will have the opportunity to see Lagoa do Caldeirão, pass by Pico das Éguas, Lagoa das Éguas and Lagoa do Canário. Afterwards it will be time to take a break to regain energy and have a picnic. Have you heard of the famous Grota do Inferno Viewpoint? We will pass by there and also see the Canário springs, and we return via Serra Devassa where we will also appreciate Lagoa Rasa and enter the park of Lagoa das Empadadas to reach the starting point. On this trail you will learn more about the geomorphology of the island. And it is the perfect way to discover Sete Cidades on a complete and little-known route.
