Serra da Freita

A walking route across the plateau of the emblematic Serra da Freita, climbing above 1000 m in altitude.
Interpret the main points of geological interest, such as the lithological contacts or fold fields, or indeed the highest waterfall in mainland Portugal, the Frecha da Mizarela.
Walk through the countryside and hear, from the locals, the explanation for almost spiritual phenomena, such as that of the “Pedras Parideiras”, and then go into the interpretive museum for a more technical explanation.
