Sicily by Car launches new location near Porto Airport

Sicily by Car, the Italian-born car rental company, has officially entered the northern Portuguese market with the opening of a new branch near Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (Porto Airport).
According to the company, the decision to open in Porto was based on a strategic market analysis highlighting the rapid growth of Porto Airport and the city’s rising role as an economic and logistical center, not only for tourism but also for local business and professional travel.
The newly launched branch covers over 900 square meters and is designed to offer a premium service experience, featuring:
- Personalized customer support
- Dedicated parking facilities
- Free shuttle service to and from the airport
- In-house car wash and high-tech logistics zones
The company has invested more than 1€ million in launching this new outlet, which includes a specialized team for customer service, vehicle maintenance, and cleaning. This ensures efficient operations and a consistently high-quality fleet for both tourists and local users.
As of the Porto opening, Sicily by Car’s Portuguese fleet includes approximately 1.000 hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, currently distributed between Lisbon and Porto, with plans to expand further to the Algarve and Madeira in the coming year.

As part of its broader growth strategy, Sicily by Car aims to open two additional branches in Portugal by May 2026:
- One in the Algarve, expected to launch by March 2026
- Another in Madeira, scheduled to open by May 2025
