Cliffs, beaches, dunes and rocky coves follow one another along the Atlantic, with a rich marine life offshore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A wild Atlantic coast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The park was created to protect a coastline that has escaped heavy development, with a great variety of habitats: sheer cliffs, sandy beaches, estuaries and the marine environment. It is also an important corridor for birds and a refuge for rare plants adapted to wind and salt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to see and do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Beaches and coves along the coast, from Aljezur to Sagres.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coastal walking routes, including sections of the Rota Vicentina.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Surfing and other water sports, where conditions allow.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wildlife, including birds and, offshore, dolphins and whales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visiting the park<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The park extends along the south-west coast, in the Alentejo and the Algarve.
