Private Tour to Enchanted Sintra from Lisbon
Descrição:
One of the first townships of Portugal, Sintra is connoted as a place full of mystery, magic and mysticism. Classified as a Cultural Landscape – World Heritage by UNESCO, we can say without hesitation that in Portugal there is no place like Sintra. Located at the foot of the Serra de Sintra and covered by woods from the four corners of the world, it has a microclimate. Don’t be surprised to find Sintra covered with fog and a climate cooler than in Lisbon, which is only 30 km away. Departure from Lisbon towards SINTRA, a Portuguese village that enchants everyone with its hills full of Palaces, Castle, and Manor Gardens. Start discovering Sintra by visiting the Pena National Palace. Located at the top of the Sintra mountains and the fruit of the dreams of an artist king, D. Fernando II, the Pena Park, and Palace are Portugal’s finest examples of 19th-century Romanticism. Must stop for those visiting the romantic and mysterious Sintra Village. After visiting the Park and Pena Palace, composer Richard Strauss wrote: “Today is the happiest day of my life. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve seen. This is the true Klingsor Garden – and there, up on high, is the Holy Grail Castle.” In the time between visits to the monuments, you can stroll through the narrow winding streets in the old town where you will find a variety of restaurants, shops with typical articles of the region and the famous “Piriquita” Tea House, known for its delicious regional pastry called “Travesseiros de Sintra”, a must for anyone visiting Sintra. Palace and Quinta da Regaleira, historical and cultural monument that will dazzle you for its mysterious and passionate architecture. The Palace is surrounded by a lush forest full of plants and trees from all over the world, statues of the gods, labyrinthine caves, fountains, ponds, and the spiral staircase of the dark initiatory well. Descending the Quinta da Regaleira Initiative Well is an experience you will not forget! Also known as Paço Real, the National Palace of Sintra was founded by the Arabs and later became the residence of the Portuguese royal family from the 12th century. It is unique in that it features its 33-meter-tall twin chimneys and contains collections of Hispanic-Moorish tile and decorative arts. It was in Paço Real, in the courtyard of the Audience, that Dom Sebastião heard the first reading of the epic poem Os LusÃadas by Luís Vaz de Camões himself. This Experience is private and was created from our own experience and learning during our visits to Sintra over the past few years. However, the itinerary presented can be changed and made to your needs if you have any preference in choosing the places to visit or in another attraction in Sintra.
