Sunrise, Coffee & Hike — PR1 Stairway to Heaven

Worth the early alarm. Before the island wakens, you’ll be climbing above the cloud line to watch Madeira wake up in golden light — followed by coffee, local bites, and a guided hike along part of the legendary “Stairway to Heaven” PR1 mountain trail. (Please note, this is not the full PR1 hike)

This is the accessible way to experience the magic of Madeira’s high mountains without committing to the full PR1 crossing (see our dedicated PR1 tour if you want the complete Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo experience). A private guide leads the way, timing the hike so you catch the light at its best.
