About this experience

Duration: Between 4 and 5 Hours

Water trek along the bed of the Ceira river. This river has a well-preserved riparian corridor.

It starts in the reservoir of the Monte Redondo Hydroelectric Plant. The route includes passing over and crossing some weirs and rocks through more than 10 jumps ranging from 2 m to 8 m.

Next to the plant mentioned above there is a spectacular waterfall. Halfway along the route there is a slide into the water and the possibility of a rope jump from the riverbank.

The final part of the route can be done by swimming or on foot along the bank.

It ends at Praia Fluvial do Pego Escuro. This stretch of the river is undoubtedly the most spectacular, as it has a very lush surrounding landscape.

Along the way it is possible to do some freediving.
This activity is a gentler form of canyoning, allowing you to try the sport for the first time.

It requires some agility and physical fitness.

Good to know

This activity requires transfers by private and company vehicle, between the end point and the start point (about 2 km), which will be explained and accompanied by the guides on the day itself.

You should bring water and a light lunch: sandwiches, fruit, energy bars, nuts, etc.

You need to bring footwear for walking in the water: trainers or plimsolls or boots with a thick, rough sole (do not bring sandals or neoprene shoes). Footwear is the responsibility of the participants.
You may bring a Lycra top to wear under the wetsuit.
The organisers have waterproof backpacks to carry participants’ lunch, but the amount should be moderate.

We suggest that participants eat something before the trek so they do not have to carry as much weight during the activity. It is important to bring sun cream. Those who wear prescription glasses should attach a cord so they stay more secure.
