Casa de Mateus is a marvel of Baroque architecture; it is a time machine that allows us to travel through the last few hundred years and follow much of the history of Portugal, Europe and the World, it is the centre of a compass rose, a point where people, ideas, stories, documents and artefacts converge and radiate from, which together form a unique collection.
