About this experience

The Caldeirão Verde Levada Hike is one of Madeira’s most well-known walks, following an irrigation channel through dense Laurissilva forest, valleys, and cliffs.

The trail is mostly flat, but the distance and narrow sections mean it still requires a good level of fitness and comfort on uneven ground. Along the way, hikers pass through tunnels and shaded areas before reaching the Caldeirão Verde waterfall at the end of the levada.

This hike is ideal for guests who want a classic Madeira levada experience with dramatic scenery, without steep ascents or technical terrain.
