25 Fontes Levada Hike

The 25 Fontes & Rabaçal Waterfalls Hike explores one of Madeira’s most well-known hiking areas, famous for its waterfalls, levada paths, and lush forest scenery.

While many tours visit this area, this experience is run with an earlier start time and flexible pacing to reduce time spent in crowded sections. By adjusting timing and route management, the focus stays on enjoying the landscape rather than navigating large groups.

The hike follows classic levada paths through the Rabaçal valley, visiting the 25 Fontes area and nearby waterfalls. Although much of the route is relatively gentle, the distance and steps require a reasonable level of fitness.
