Discover the regions of Moorish and Roman heritage on this full-day excursion, starting in Albufeira and heading to the Sotavento Algarvio. Visit Faro, capital of the province of the Algarve, get to know Olhão, an important fishing centre, and explore the easternmost towns of the region.

After pick-up at your accommodation, you will head to the first destination, Faro, with its 13th-century historic centre. Next, you will visit Olhão, home to the most famous market in the Algarve.

The journey continues to Tavira, where you can explore the castle and the town’s various typical churches, with a break for lunch. Cross the Roman Bridge that leads to the castle and enjoy one of the most stunning views over the town.

Further on, let yourself be charmed by the village of Cacela Velha, with its famous whitewashed houses, located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park area.

The tour ends in Vila Real de Santo António, the easternmost town in the Algarve, right by the border with Spain. Notice the architectural similarities with Lisbon, as it was rebuilt in the same way by the Marquis of Pombal after the 1755 earthquake.
