Set aside half a day to discover some of the most striking points of interest in the Barlavento Algarvio. Explore the town of Lagos on foot, learn about the history of the Portuguese Age of Discovery, admire the rock formations of Ponta da Piedade and enjoy a scenic drive through Sagres.

The first stop is the town of Lagos, historically recognised as the birthplace of the Portuguese Age of Discovery. Stroll through its streets and discover emblematic monuments, such as the Church of Santo António, with its stunning interior lined with gilded woodwork and tiles.

Next, we head to Ponta da Piedade, one of the most beautiful natural monuments in the Algarve, famous for the magnificent rock formations that emerge from crystal-clear waters. Admire the delicate arches and stone pillars, carved over the centuries by the intense winter storms.

The tour continues with a panoramic view over the village of Sagres, Praia da Mareta and the Sagres Fortress. We will make a photo stop at Porto da Baleeira before continuing towards Cabo de São Vicente.

Here you can see the 28-metre lighthouse, situated at the most south-westerly point of Portugal and of the whole of Europe. Learn about the history of this unique place and walk along the imposing cliffs, ending with a breathtaking sunset before returning to your hotel.
