Abseiling is a descent technique used to overcome vertical obstacles, be they walls, waterfalls, cliffs, etc.

This activity can be practised from different perspectives, whether on an inclined, vertical or overhanging surface, using the traditional technique (sitting position) or inverted (commonly known as Australian abseiling).
